Change this something normal, into something beautiful.

Wow. Time has literally flown. I really have no idea how or why this summer has gone by so fast, but several things are really starting to hit me now like buckets of... paint. Ok, bad simile. Anyway these things have recently crossed my mind:

1- First of all, the fact that summer is really almost over. Every summer around the beginning of August, someone says to me, "Wow! Summer is almost over!" and I think, "Uhh notevenclose, we still have several weeks left." But since I am returning to college early this year, it really is almost over. I have about two and a half weeks left. That's insane. I still have so many things I want to do; such as, read more, go to that sporting clays place with my dad and brothers, go camping, go to a water park, become proficient at Frisbee Golf, actually go real golfing again, and so many other things that I have been thinking about this summer. But, eh, no big deal. I just need to focus on my priorities and finish what I need to do before school.

2. I haven't blogged ALL SUMMER LONG! I don't really know why, I mean I love blogging. I guess I just waited a few weeks then got really behind. But I want to write a lot more before school starts, so I figured I would get crackin. So much has happened this summer already... I want to get caught up. Maybe I'll re-cap sometime.

3. My lil brother is getting huge. Man, he is no longer a little kid. He is like my size. And he is getting to be a lot of fun... I can't wait till we get to ride down to Florida, and for him to meet my friends and everything. It's crazy... he is getting to the point where we have similar likes and dislikes and... we have fun together.

4. I have no idea what my future is looking like. After I graduate, I literally have no idea. I mean... I could teach, I could stay at my current school, I could get my master's from a different Christian school, I could go to a State school. It's crazy... I have no idea. I need to start praying like mad. I mean it's ok... my whole life has been like this. Just kinda cruising along, waiting for God to point me in a direction. But I hope it happens soon...

5. I am a senior. Wow. That's just weird. I can't wait for this year to start.

6. I have an amazing family. We have so much fun together... I really think I have the best family in the world. Sure we have lot's of issues. But all in all, I am super blessed to be a Miller.

7. I need to become more organized. Ahh. My room(s) at home, my room at school, and everything about me is usually just a scrambled mess. Sometimes I like it that way...

8. I have eaten at Charley's Grilled Sub's wayyy too often this summer. I am beginning to think that their Chicken Teriyaki sub is capable of mind control.

9. No matter what happens to me in the next few months, years, whatever; my God is so big. So strong and so mighty. There's nothing my God cannot do.

I heard a fly buzz when I died...

So this is my second week of my Education Practicum thing for school... I have been hanging out at First Baptist and it has been absolutely eye opening and really enjoyable.

The school has improved much... the teachers are more stable and more experienced... and the school knows what to do with it's seniors. When I was in the first graduating class, it was sort of awkward because we were the very, very, first. Actually, we were the first 10th graders, first 11th graders and the first 12th graders. So they really had no idea what a senior class should be doing as far as the senior trip and everything else goes...

but they are very, fond memories. I absolutely love this school and I can't wait to see how God uses it down the road.

So last week I mostly sat in classes and just watched... this week I have been observing BUT also have done some teaching. Yesterday I taught the social science-kinda-class. It was about Evolution vs Creation... and it was simple as far as the material goes. I just helped them answer their questions and such... the first one was a little rough but I think they both went ok. Then I did the Literature class which I thought I was prepared for... but it was harder than I thought. It went ok though, I just went really fast through my notes. But Hopefully today will be great.

I am teaching Emily Dickinson... today I am reading them some of my personal favorite Dickinson poems... such as "I heard a fly buzz," and "Because I could not stop for death..." which are both wonderful poems.

I never liked Dickinson as a student... but I really have enjoyed teaching it. So today I did the junior high Bible class. Which to me, went really well. I felt very comfortable and smooth but I don't know how it looked to them. One of the tenth graders (I think it was a tenth grader... maybe ninth?) asked me if I was nervous, to which I replied no, but I think she saw my figiting and that would definitely make her think I was nervous... but hey I always move when I talk...

Anyway I have a few Late New Years Resolutions:

The first of which is to read the entire Bible... because the guy on the plane [greg] asked me how many times I have read the Bible through. It was embarrassing to say never entirely. So I am doing the daily Bible-reading-through-the-year-thing which was been pretty enjoyable so far. I am a little behind, but it doesn't take long to get caught up. I know--the idea is to do it every day though. I know. My goal is to not get behind at ALL.

Also I want to read all the books that I own before buying more. I have sooo many books to read haha.

So lastly from the News Desk, is the little nugget that I found out last Thursday, that a good friend of mine will now be a floorleader. Is that slightly weird? yeah a little. I mean he is still probably my best friend at school, and I don't intend on things being weird. I guess I am slightly dissapointed though because I was hoping this to be an awesome semester. He has more time now than ever to hang out and go to things with me... and now he won't have as much as I thought. Is that selfish? Probably. I know he has a life to live. I just want to have a great last semester with him.

I am happy for him. He has been feeling the call of God to be a leader, I think, and this seems like another chance for him to do so... so I say more power to him. I just hope he doesn't regret it. I would not really mind being a floorleader myself, but all the jobs that they have to do... ehh. When it's time for bed, I want to sleep. Not spend time walking in other rooms haha. But that's just me. I just hope it's an awesome semester. This has all the makings of being my best semester ever.

Oh well. Only time will tell I s'pose.
